Expectations and goals

A select group of athletes will compete at the Ontario University Athletics [OUA] Development Regatta. This group will also be competing at the Canadian University Rowing Association [CURA] Championships regatta.  The goal is to have a full team compete at the OUA Development Regatta at the end of October and have a minimum of two boats (one women's and one men's boat) race at the CURA Championships.

OUA: The goal is to win a medal in each of the Junior Varsity events entered (both women's and men's 2x and 4+), as well has have both the women's and men's novice crews earn a berth into the finals in their respective 8+ races.

The goal is to take a minimum of two crews to the regatta. Although there are no official qualification requirements for this regatta, a crew will only be selected if they qualify during training at home on Ramsey Lake.  Qualification will be based on Gold Medal Standard results, as set forth by Rowing Canada Aviron, and will be under the discretion of the coaching staff.  Crews that do qualify to race at the CURA Championships will be expected to compete at a high level and be competent enough to qualify to race in at least the ‘B' final, resulting in a top eight finish in Canada.

Interuniversity program fees are not yet finalized. This fee covers operating and insurance costs. Please note that participation in regattas will also involve incidental expenses being incurred. eg. transportation, accommodations, meals.
